Building a transparent society
The Transparency Somalia Initiative (TSI) is an independent organization committed to promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance across the nation. Our mission is to build a society rooted in integrity and public trust by addressing corruption and strengthening institutional systems.
By serving as a vital link between public institutions and the Somali people, we ensure that national resources are managed with honesty. Leveraging technology, research, and policy advocacy, we empower both government and civil society to uphold ethical governance. We are dedicated to fostering open data and sustainable reforms that restore public trust and pave the way for lasting development.
We believe that a corruption-free future is possible when fairness and integrity prevail.

CPI 2025_Somalia
In the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index, Somalia and South Sudan are tied at the bottom of the global rankings, each recording a stagnant score of 9. This dual ranking marks a grim milestone for the region, signaling that neither nation has yet found the institutional momentum required to distance itself from the index’s lowest tier. The result reflects a state of total stagnation for Somalia, whose score has remained unchanged since 2024 despite the introduction of new anti-corruption rhetoric and policy frameworks.

Since its establishment, the Transparency Somalia Initiative (TSI) has been fostering good governance principles of transparency and accountability in the management and use of public resources in Somalia. TSI has engaged various strategic stakeholders including community leaders and civil society; youth from various Higher Learning Institutions; Government Officials, Ministries, Parliamentary Oversight Committees, Elected Representatives (Members of Parliament, State Representatives, Elders); and media houses.

STAC Conference
The Somalia Transparency and Accountability Conference (STAC) is a groundbreaking event tackling corruption to build a more transparent society. STAC unites government officials, international bodies, civil society, academics, and citizens to foster dialogue, share best practices, and evaluate innovative anti-corruption frameworks. Ultimately, the conference aims to promote accountability, strengthen good governance, and drive sustainable development across Somalia.

Transparency Certification Program
Our Transparency Certification Program mobilizes corporations and institutions dedicated to the public interest. This voluntary initiative encourages Somali businesses to adopt anti-corruption standards, recognizing that corruption distorts resource allocation, raises operational costs, stifles development, and undermines service delivery. We empower the private sector to partner with government and civil society in building a corruption-free Somalia.
The centre provides free and confidential legal advice to witnesses and victims of corruption.
Corruption undermines sustainable development and weakens institutions. Focusing on SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), we fight corruption to protect vital resources for healthcare and education, support vulnerable populations, and advance institutional transparency across the nation.

State of Corruption Report
Transparency Somalia Initiative (TSI) is finalizing the release of our flagship annual State of Corruption Report, providing vital insights and recommendations to strengthen accountability and governance across the nation.
